This Privacy Policy explains how Task Buddy (the "App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. Task Buddy is a productivity app designed to help users create, organize, manage, and complete tasks and reminders.

Your task data belongs to you. Task Buddy is designed to keep your tasks, notes, and reminders stored locally on your device by default. We use specific device permissions only when required to provide features such as notifications, reminders, advertising, and app functionality.

2. Information We Collect

Task & Reminder Data — We handle the information you enter into the App, such as task titles, descriptions, notes, dates, reminder times, priorities, and completion status. If you use the offline version, this information is stored locally on your device.
Device & Technical Data — Device model, operating system version, app version, and basic diagnostics may be collected through crash reporting tools such as Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix technical problems.
Advertising Identifiers — If advertisements are enabled in the free version, identifiers such as the Google Advertising ID (GAID) may be used by third-party advertising providers to serve and measure advertisements.

3. Task Data & Local Storage

Transparency Note: Task Buddy is designed to process and store your task information locally on your device unless a feature explicitly requires data to be transmitted to a third-party service.

Your tasks, reminders, notes, and related information may be stored locally on your device so that the App can provide its core task-management functionality.

Store and manage your to-do lists and tasks.
Save reminder dates and times.
Track completed and pending tasks.
Provide task notifications and reminders.
Maintain your task information when using the App offline.

4. Notifications & Reminders

Task Buddy may use your device's notification system to remind you about tasks and scheduled reminders.

Notifications are generated according to the reminders you create in the App. You can disable notification permissions at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications may prevent reminder alerts from being delivered.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to maintain app stability, provide advertising, and support app operations.

Google Firebase / Crashlytics — May be used to monitor app crashes, technical errors, and app stability so that we can identify and fix problems.
Google AdMob — May be used to display advertisements in the free version of the App and help support ongoing development.
Google Play Services — May be used to provide required Android platform functionality and support purchases or subscriptions, if applicable.

6. Permissions

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Used to display task reminders and notifications when notification permission is granted.
INTERNET — Required for services such as advertisements, crash reporting, updates, or other online functionality provided by third-party services.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Task information stored locally on your device remains under your control. You can delete individual tasks or other information through the App, where applicable.

If you uninstall Task Buddy or clear the App's storage/data through your device settings, locally stored task information may be permanently deleted.

If Task Buddy introduces cloud backup, synchronization, or account-based features in the future, additional information about server-side data storage, retention, and deletion will be provided in an updated version of this Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

Task Buddy is intended as a general productivity and task-management application. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable laws.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, its features, or applicable legal requirements. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date shown at the top of this page.
